More than a style, design is a discipline aimed at creating objects that are functional, attractive and satisfy the specific requirements of industrial production.
What a Maped designer has to say:
?If I had to define my profession, I would say I am a Product Architect. I look for new shapes that I adapt to the product's function and, at the same time, I explore new concepts. Examples: the Flex-Box, a storage box and coloured pencil pot all in one. The satisfaction of seeing your "baby" in the hands of consumers is still my main motivation. At Maped, the proximity of the Design Department and the Packaging and Marketing Departments enables me to be at the centre of a project and be responsive ? this is where the creation process becomes exciting."
"There are 2 possible working methods:
? From a set of specifications, I design the first formats of the product in computerised form, using 3-D modelling software. Then, to validate the aesthetics and functionality, I get our prototype technician to make a mockup.
? I spontaneously put forward an idea or mockup to Product Managers and the Design Department: if it is adopted, technical and marketing specifications will be drawn up to validate the idea proposed."
"Finding new concepts and shapes is an ongoing challenge that I enjoy meeting every day.?
